The Department of Theatre offers the Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees with a major in Theatre with the following emphases available: Acting/Directing, Technical/Design, and Secondary Teacher Certification. Also, Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees are offered in Theatre.
The Theatre Department at A&M-Commerce allows you to take center stage in planning your future and focus on learning the parts of theatre production that interest you most. You will gain performance and production experience in our 300+ seat main stage as well as our black box theatre.
Each academic year, the Department of Theatre produces four shows from authors ranging from Shakespeare to Same Shepard, and styles ranging from French Farce to Contemporary Musical Theatre. Our season is split into two semesters, Fall and Spring, each consisting of two productions.
Texas A&M University-Commerce is the only A&M system university that offers a Master’s in Theatre! Please note that this degree is not an introductory program and requires prior experience with either a Bachelor's in Theatre OR the equivalent amount of knowledge.
