Tadd Dameron (born February 21, 1917, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.—died March 8, 1965, New York, New York) was an American jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and bandleader, especially noted during the bop era for the melodic beauty and warmth of the songs he composed.
Tadd Dameron is hailed by critics as one of the most significant composers and arrangers of the era spanning swing and bebop. Dameron began arranging for swing bands in 1938, but he was absorbing the new music of the beboppers and was the first to inject these new ideas into big band arrangements.
