6 wrz 2017 · For some people "blank" could mean a zero length string value: i.e. one with no characters in it (''). For some people "blank" could mean a non-zero length string value consisting of only non-printing characters (SPACE, TAB, etc).
The IS NULL operator is used to test for empty values (NULL values). The following SQL lists all customers with a NULL value in the "Address" field:

When inserting such data (without email) into the table, there are two available choices: set cell to NULL or set it to empty string (''). Let's assume that I'm aware of all the technical implications of choosing one solution over another and I can create correct SQL queries for either scenario.
