2 lip 2007 · Sony actually do have another HDMI cable that is "officially recommended" for PS3. It's not strictly a PS3 cable though, just a normal Sony HDMI cable, albeit a bit more expensive.
7 cze 2024 · The PS3 is compatible with both HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.4, but it primarily supports HDMI 1.3. HDMI 1.3 is an older version that offers a maximum resolution of 1080p and supports up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second) bandwidth.
You are correct that the original (fat/phat) PS3 didn't include an HDMI cable in the box, but I think that the DLC-HD20P is the HDMI cable that Sony would have sold as an add-on to the PS3 at the time of its release.

Hundreds of millions of cables made before HDMI 1.4 existed work just fine with 1.4 even though the packaging doesn't say so. The only real consideration is durability. Every cable will move the bits from one end to the other, but some of them will fall apart in a week, and some won't.
27 wrz 2023 · UPDATE: I am concluding that most ps3's don't come with an HDMI cable; the only exceptions are special versions of the ps3 like the little big planet bundle. In addition to this, ALL ps3's come with AV cables. while most ps3's sold on ebay doesn't come with AV cables, you can find them individually on Ebay for cheap, so that isn't an issue.
