29 wrz 2012 · This article has both pci.sys and setupdd.sys as symptoms. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330181 But they couldn't specify, in plain English, their theory as to what hardware is defective. They seem to be playing with the system RAM DIMMs. But they also attempt to remove PCI cards.
5 lis 2006 · You are right, both errors (4 and 7) are related; remove all PCI cards, and restart. If your computer starts now, start adding one PCI card at a time, till you find which one causes this. If your computer does not start with no PCI cards, post back for further instructions.

30 wrz 2012 · My Windows XP Home installation became damaged and wouldn't boot. I inserted the original installation CD and rebooted. The PC booted from the CD. It wasn't long before I got this error message: File setupdd.sys could not be loaded. The error code is 32768.
