The School Lunch Association is a registered charity whose mission is to operate a non stigmatizing program that provides a hot, nutritious lunch for school children, regardless of a families’ financial situation. The program serves over 6,700 meals each day, in 43 schools across Newfoundland.

Next Steps for School Meals is a province-wide consultation about a school lunch program in Newfoundland and Labrador. Food First NL will create a report and recommend options to implement this program based on what we learn.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier Andrew Furey, along with federal ministers and NL MPs were on hand for the announcement yesterday in Rocky Harbour, on the island’s west coast.
