Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is a recreated brownstone at 28 East 20th Street, between Broadway and Park Avenue South, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, New York City. It is a replica of the birthplace and childhood home of 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.
A massive fountain centered Union Square in the mid 1800s. During Theodore Roosevelt's childhood at No. 28 East 20th Street, he and his siblings frequented their grandfather's mansion on Union Square, and would have been very familiar with the fountain. The fountain starting gushing water in 1842 to celebrate the opening of the Croton Aqueduct.

The Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is a remarkable and fitting replica of the birthplace and child hood home of President Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States. In March Of 2018, I brought my wife and myself for a visit and guided tour of the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace.
2 paź 2024 · Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace is open year-round and is located in Manhattan's Gramercy Park district. Admission to the site is free and we are open Wednesday through Sunday. Visitors are welcome to view our exhibit galleries containing Roosevelt artifacts and historical information as a well as a political cartoon collection.
If you’re interested in Roosevelt’s extraordinary life, which has been somewhat overshadowed by the enduring legacy of his younger cousin Franklin D, the site is worth visiting – especially if you don’t have the time to see his spectacular summer home in Long Island’s Oyster Bay.
