Here is her response: Emma: Finally, your breastfeeding question. It seems to me that Jack mentions it pretty rarely, actually: he gives far more analysis of what they have for lunch and dinner.

The novel is split into five chapters. Presents. The novel opens with Jack turning five and Ma giving him a drawing she did of him as a gift. The narrative perspective is Jack's; therefore, the dialogue is extremely matter-of-fact and juvenile.
