25 sty 2024 · regedit.exe was ran as admin then as I am used on previous versions of Windows I edited some registries , closed the Registry Editor and rebooted the system. After the boot reopened the registries I was working on and it was like nothing had been done. Changes were not saved. Then I have checked on Local Group Policy editor :

Jako że nie korzystam z opcji pod tytułem przywracanie systemu chciałem ją wyłączyć.Niestety standardowe wyłączenie tej opcji we właściwościach systemu(ten komputer-właściwości-ochrona systemu) pomaga na chwilę.Co jakiś czas opcja ta włącza się sama(nie wiem przy jakiej okazji może przy aktualizacjach?).

26 maj 2016 · The "set other applications" part is referring to other programs that would give that error, it has been suggested to run them in compatibility work, regedit.exe (registry editor) is a completely different case here and its a native windows program / application that shouldn't be run in compatibility mode (and cannot be run in compatibility mode!).

17 cze 2012 · I had the same problem when I used Windows (Start), Search, to find Regedit.exe. I right clicked Regedit and saw via properties that it was trying to run a Windows XP Regedit.exe file buried deeply in my files. This Windows XP Regedit.exe file will not run on Windows 7, so I located the Win XP folder/file and removed it from my computer.
