Learn the importance of data structure + data design. Is not obvious, but in Rust is BIG the idea of using data structures (plus types) and is like half the solution to *anything*. In other words: Learn to love vector, Btree, hashmaps, enum and structs.

The Rust programming language is atrocious. It is horrible, and I wish it a painful and swift death. I've been programming for well over thirty years. I'm quite good at it (usually). I have been told by many coworkers and managers that I'm super fast. Well, not in Rust!
One of the points brought up was that pinecone has been hiring devs without Rust experience, and training them to work on the Rust codebase. According to the speaker it has been going well. So whatever the shape of the learning curve, it seems that on-the-job training is doable.
