18 maj 2023 · Propositional logic is the study of the meanings of, and the inferential relationships that hold among, sentences based on the role that a specific class of logical operators called the propositional connectives have in determining those sentences’ truth or assertability conditions.
This is not a theory of propositions — it assigns nothing other than truth-values to sentences. But we can see how a theory of propositions might get started by asking how well a Fregean theory of reference fares as a complete theory of language. Here are some immediate problems.
