5 gru 2009 · When I manually try to start the power service, the system responds with Access Denied. I am an administrator on a stand alone machine (a Dell Precision M4400). I have done a powercfg -RestoreDefaultSchemes and have been able to gain access to the power schemes (and the Power Service is running).
The following three main power plans are available in Windows 7: High performance. Balanced. Power saver. Each power plan targets different uses, and you can easily switch between different power plans to provide tradeoffs between performance and power consumption.

What I tried: 1. powercfg -resoredefaultschemes -> unexpected error, no further information. 2. powercfg -energy -> report only states that some USB devices don't go to sleep. 3. setting registry permissions -> still access denied.
