All single speeds, male fat bike, female fat bike, male tandem teams and mixed tandem teams will have separate groups in the 48 and 28 mile races, regardless of age. Age groups for the 10 mile Shore Rock are: 1-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13‑14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

There are some sandy sections in which a hybrid bike may have a harder time than a regular mountain bike. Riders have completed and enjoyed the O2S using a hybrid. However, for optimal riding enjoyment, we recommend using a mountain bike. I’ve never done a bike race before. Do I need to do a lot of training to be able to finish?
