10 sie 2024 · Tola Tamirat of Ethiopia ran the race of his life to win Paris 2024 marathon gold on Saturday (10 August) with a new Olympic record of 2:06:26 as Kenyan legend Eliud Kipchoge failed to defend his title.
Kipchoge is the 2016 and 2020 Olympic marathon champion, and was the world record holder in the marathon from 2018 to 2023, [3] until that record was broken by Kelvin Kiptum at the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Kipchoge has run four of the 10 fastest marathons in history.
Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya won the gold medal in the men's marathon at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a time of 2:08:38. Abdi Nageeye of the Netherlands and Bashir Abdi of Belgium took the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
