ODHE is a Cabinet-level agency that oversees higher education for the state of Ohio. It authorizes and approves new degree programs, manages state-funded financial aid programs and advises the Governor on higher education policy.

It approves degree programs and manages financial aid programs while also developing policies that maximize the contributions of higher education to the state and its citizens.
