Yes, definitely! I recommend playing the Japanese version of Animal Crossing: New Leaf while playing My Japanese Coach (keep in mind you'll need a Japanese 3DS to play New Leaf). You'd have a pretty good understanding of the language by doing this (Money, Fruits and Vegetables, (this, here, over there), names, plants, animals...the list goes on).
