In Myspace 2.0 you don't need codes if you want to hide an entire section such as your whole Friends Space or your entire comments section. All you have to do is go into the Customize section of myspace 2.0 and turn off the modules you don't want to show on your profile.
If you are a Myspace 2.0 user, you can hide friends, using a different code. All you need to do is log in to your account and visit your profile page. Then from the drop down menu, you need to select Customize Profile. You will find a new Profile 2.0 Customize Profile window open.
