Basic Information for SNAP applicants. We recommend you to apply for SNAP today. The benefits start the day the application is submitted. Apply online at jobs.utah.gov/mycase . You can also apply in a work center or we can send you the application by mail; however, you could lose benefits given delays on the delivery.
Food Stamps are issued through the Utah Horizon card, which acts as a "debit card" to buy groceries. Food Stamps can only be used to buy food and seeds to grow food for human consumption. You do not pay Utah’s sales tax on food when using your Horizon card.
