Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003), better known as Mister Rogers, was an American television host, author, producer, and Presbyterian minister. [1] He was the creator, showrunner, and host of the preschool television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood , which ran from 1968 to 2001.

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (sometimes shortened to Mister Rogers) is an American half-hour educational children's television series that ran from 1968 to 2001. It was created and hosted by Fred Rogers.
In 1998, at the beginning of an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Mr. Rogers displays a picture board with five doors. Three of the doors are opened to reveal the familiar faces of Lady Aberlin , King Friday , and Mr. McFeely .
In August 2001, Rogers retired from recording Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. In October 2002, doctors told him he had stomach cancer. He died from the disease a few months later on February 27, 2003. He was 74 years old. President George W. Bush honored Rogers with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
