27 paź 2015 · A Miller Dialarc 250HF or 330A/BP will both give you much more capacity than the 180 and can be had for around $500. They don't have square wave, but I've welded miles of aluminum with mine and it does a fantastic job.
9 lut 2005 · I think the Sync 180 is a great deal for the money but in reality, the arc is wider on aluminum and is harder to learn on. The Dynasty with it's slightly more complex adjustments give you a real tight arc that gives the operator much more control and is easier to weld with.

6 sty 2020 · The Miller 180SD has one of those non-repairable circuit cards and there's no schematic available. BE SURE that the TIG function works BEFORE you buy. The AC/DC welder will work without the card but the TIG won't.
24 wrz 2024 · If your friend is starting a shop tell him to buy something better out of the gate. 180SD is not Miller's finest. An old 250 Syncrowave is 10 times the machine.
3 lut 2011 · I used to have a 180, and do not remember having trouble with aluminum, but I don't weld it often. Since no one else has replied, I will give it a shot. I have a suggestion, which is to visit your local welding supply store.
18 paź 2012 · TIG (especially a 180 Synchrowave) is best suited to thin materials that are tightly fitted. Rule of thumb on steel, your electrode diameter should be equal to the material you are welding. Your amps should be equal to the thickness of the material.
