31 lip 2020 · Type of diabetes. Type 1. Treatment type. Insulin. Aug 1, 2020. #7. My Tesco didn’t have this Michelob ultra but they sell quite few gluten free beers. Then I realised I’m also gluten intolerant so I need low carb gluten free beer. Might be easier to stick to wine.
19 paź 2023 · In general, we view wine and spirits as being friendlier to diabetics than beer is. In beer manufacturing, "Ultra" has become shorthand for lower carb' beer so maybe look for any beers with this in the name, Examples would be Michelob Ultra, Miller Ultra, Kingfisher Ultra, Steinlager Ultra etc.

25 mar 2008 · Re: Diabetes & alcohol. Judicious use of alcohol is beneficial for diabetics (especially type 2). Alcohol inhibiots liver gluconeogenesis. The liver in type 2 DM produces 3 times more glucose (gluconeogenesis) than in normal people. I find my lowest morning readings after a few glasses of red wine the night before.
10 paź 2014 · One thing i liked about my last holiday in the U.S. the large variety of light beers and that they put the full nutritional info on the cans/bottles like our food over here. I don't know why beer is exempt from doing so over here. Even better is michelob ultra which only has 2.6g per 330 bottle

A dry wine can have as low as 1-2g of carbohydrate in a modest sized glass (200ml) whereas a particularly sweet wine could have over 10g of carbs. A medium sweetness wine is likely to have 5 to 10g of carbs per standard glass.
8 kwi 2010 · Frenchman, I'm not really qualified to answer your question, but as far as I was aware a dry red wine would contain less calories and sugar than a regular lager (Stella, Peroni, Kronenbourg). But there are low carb or light beers out there like Michelob Ultra that have less sugar and carbs.
