the plot base is: you have a main character biometal, a sidekick biom. to flesh out the plot, four biom.-s to serve the 8 boss tradition (they get split into two), a main baddie biom., a misterious biom. and then ZXA adds Model A to be different yet still capture the gameplay of MMXZ.
