The median nerve is a nerve in the upper limb that originates from the brachial plexus and innervates the anterior compartment of the forearm and the hand. It passes through the carpal tunnel and supplies the thenar muscles, the skin of the palm and the fingers, and the joints of the wrist and hand.
The Median Nerve begins in the axillary region with the root of median nerves situated in the anterior rami of C5-T1. Median and lateral cords of the brachial plexus are merged and extended as the median nerve.
