I knew someone who earned a Masters in Business Analytics. I had to carry them through their job for the first 5 months. They still couldn't build out a Tableau dashboard from scratch and didn't develop an intuition on data manipulation during that time.
I got my MS in Business Analytics after I had accrued 5ish years experience in data analysis & BI. In the 4 yrs since graduating, my income doubled so it was definitely worth it to me, especially because of the benefit derived from learning statistical modeling in R & Python.
Just graduated in May with an MS in Business Analytics. Got let go from my previous job as I was interviewing for an analytics job. Luckily I landed the gig so it worked out. Absolutely get the masters, especially if you don’t have the experience.
20 kwi 2014 · #1. What's the opinion here on MIT's MFin program vs. MBAn? MBAn seems like a much newer program without any graduating class stats to back it up. But a much smaller cohort (~30), and it does cover some fundamental overlaps with quant programs such as algorithms, ML, optimization, probability, and stochastic models.
