Use localStorage.setObj(key, value) to save an array or object and localStorage.getObj(key) to retrieve it. The same methods work with the sessionStorage object. If you just use the new methods to access the storage, every value will be converted to a JSON-string before saving and parsed before it is returned by the getter.

This is so that I can easily retrieve the user information when they perform a action. If the user close the browser window, I would like to clear all localstorage for the react application. How can I achieve that?
14 kwi 2022 · You can initialize your state by getting the value of local storage. useState hook accept a function as a parameter. const [value, setValue] = useState(window.localStorage.getItem('SAVE_SEARCH')) Now, when your component would render, it will get the value that is on local storage and assign to your state.
You can use use-local-storage-state. Handling all edge-cases when dealing with localStorage is actually hard. I created the library one year ago and have been maintaining it for the entire time.
23 maj 2017 · In my opinion you can store JWT in local/session storage if you need, there is nothing bad doing it by itself. Anyway you need to consider risks of using browser storage, and handle a lot of things manually. In another hand you can use cookies to do the job for you.

It does not work when, let's say, clicking on a button in the same window updates the local storage. The below code handles that as well. It might look a bit redundant, but it works:
