If you need a my full hotkey setup feel free to ask, i would gladly dm the screenshots. There aren't best hotkeys. I use Space, Tab, zxcvbt for items, nm for courier, S for stop, qwerdf for skills, a for auto, g for voice and H for direction move. Numbers for control groups, 1 being hero and ' for next unit.

The best way is how you are used to do it. make sure you can rech all keys and just bind them how it fits you best. Personally, i use my thumb for the items: x (boots), c (active 1), v (active 2), b (active 3), space for an additional item or scroll, and n for a passive item or scroll.
