The Indiana State Museum is a museum located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The museum houses exhibits on the science, art, culture, and history of Indiana from prehistoric times to the present day.
The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites is a museum network of 12 locations across the state of Indiana. Here, we use our incredible collection of artifacts (everything from mastodon bones to T.C. Steele paintings) and our state’s most culturally significant sites to tell larger stories around bigger themes.

The Indiana State Museum is located in White River State Park in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and offers a year-round schedule of changing exhibits, hands-on experiences, programs and events. The 11 state historic sites are located throughout Indiana, stretching from Rome City in northeastern Indiana to Evansville in the southwest.
