The Strait of Hormuz (/ h ɔːr ˈ m uː z / Persian: تنگهٔ هُرمُز Tangeh-ye Hormoz listen ⓘ, Arabic: مَضيق هُرمُز Maḍīq Hurmuz) is a strait between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
