The band — who, we’re happy to report, are still active — used their debut TikTok post as an opportunity to apologise for the borderline hate crime that is their name.

Hoobastank formed in the Los Angeles County suburb Agoura Hills in 1994. Vocalist Doug Robb met with guitarist Dan Estrin in a high school battle of the bands competition and decided to form a band. They recruited Markku Lappalainen and Chris Hesse to form Hoobastank.
