The HEP Group welcomes applications from students wishing to study for a PhD in experimental or theoretical High Energy Physics. We normally have projects available on each of our active experiments, and on various theoretical topics. A PhD takes between three and four years to complete.
Are you a curious person, passionate about programming, deep learning, and physics? Do you want to develop innovative computational methods that directly support key breakthroughs in the green energy transition? Then we have a great opportunity for you!. Read more
The PhD project(s) would use the full 13.6 TeV dataset from the ongoing Run 3, as well as from Run 2 taken in 2015-18, to search for signs of new physics, using modern multivariate selection techniques, such as artificial neural nets and boosted decision trees.
The UCL high energy physics group has 50 academic, research and technical staff and over 50 PhD students. We are one of the largest groups in the country with research areas spanning: theory/phenomenology, detector, software and accelerator R&D and analysis of data from the LHC, dark matter and neutrino experiments.
2 dni temu · UCL is an exciting and vibrant place to work and study, with the High-Energy Physics group including over 30 PhD students. Each year we welcome several new students on a variety of research topics. There are two PhD streams with HEP projects, and you are welcome to apply for both.
The “physics” domain of IP Paris doctoral school reflects this variety by offering possibilities of PhD thesis work in theoretical or experimental fundamental physics, as well as in more applied fields based on the properties of light and matter, energy, or applications to biosciences.
