As far as I could tell, it is run by a group of business graduates who spotted a hole in the market and decided to make some money by exploiting people with an education. They charged up to $70 for a one hour lesson and paid the tutors only $13.50.
It's a scam in the sense it gives you little to no benefit for what it costs to join. NSHSS cost $75 to join and the entry requirements are low enough that most college-bound students can achieve them.
