Government e Marketplace (GeM) is an online platform for public procurement in India. [1] The initiative was launched on 9 August 2016, by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India with the objective to create an open and transparent procurement platform for government buyers. [2] It was built in a record time of 5 months to facilitate the online procurement of goods and Services.
GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users achieve the best value for their money.
Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is the National Public Procurement Portal; an end-to-end online Marketplace for Central and State Government Ministries / Departments, Central & State Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous institutions and Local bodies, for procurement of common use goods & services.
This portal by the Indian government allows users to register for eFiling of trade marks with a digital signature. It provides detailed guidelines and steps for secure and efficient registration, ensuring authenticity and legal compliance for trademark applications.
