Furman’s beautiful 170-acre golf course is considered one of the finest college courses in the country. Designed by Richard K. Webel of Long Island, N.Y., and Walter Cosby, superintendent of grounds and greens at the famed Greenbrier Hotel and Golf Resort, the course was built in the late 1950s when few colleges had a course on campus.

The Furman University Golf Club is on the west side of campus on Duncan Road about 15 minutes north of Greenville. The layout is a traditional design along tree lined fairways over rolling hills with deep sand bunkers at the landing areas and guarding the greens and several water hazards in play.
