Kaoru Koganei is one of the main characters from the Flame of Recca anime and manga. A young boy who originally was affiliated to Kurei's Uruha, but later sided with Team Hokage. In battle he fights using the Kougan Anki, a puzzle-like Madougu which can transform into five different forms.
The Kougon Anki has five basic "forms". In it's default form, it is a halberd. The other forms include a boomerang, a chain sickle, huge scissor-type blades, and it's "true" form, a bow with a metal arrow.
Kaoru was once a member of Kurei's Uruha, but later, he becomes a member of Recca's team in the Ura Butō Satsujin. He wields the Kōgan Anki, a puzzle-like weapon that has five different forms. In the manga, the weapon also has a mysterious sixth form: "Mu" (Nothing).
The Kogan Anki of Kaoru Koganei from Flame of Recca can take turn into a swallow, a chain and sickle, a boomerang, a pair of giant scissors, and a bow, as well as a sixth secret form. The transforming process is complicated though, and only someone as adept at puzzles as Kaoru can change it from one form to another while in the heat of battle.
