8 mar 2023 · The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) provides workers with minimum wage, overtime pay, and child labor protections. The FLSA covers most, but not all, private and public sector employees. In addition, certain employers and employees are exempt from coverage. The FLSA requires employers to pay covered, nonexempt employees at least the minimum wage.
The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 29 U.S.C. § 203 [1] (FLSA) is a United States labor law that creates the right to a minimum wage, and "time-and-a-half" overtime pay when people work over forty hours a week.
