Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) is the federal Judiciary's system that allows case documents, such as pleadings, motions, and petitions, to be filed with the court online. CM/ECF is most often used by attorneys in cases, U.S. Trustees, and bankruptcy trustees.

Go to the NextGen CM/ECF website of the court in which you are registered to e-file. Look up the court’s website using the Court CM/ECF Lookup. Click the “CM/ECF Document Filing System” link. At the login screen, log in with your upgraded PACER account credentials. Click the “Utilities” menu.
CM/ECF -- the Case Management/Electronic Case Files program -- is a joint program of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and the federal courts to replace old case management systems with a system based on current technology, new software, and increased functionality.
