25 lis 2020 · If you don’t have extra cash for repairs, a used police car is a bad investment. People think they are always maintained excellent, but usually they get used and abused. When they have major issues or high mileage they get dumped.
We have 4 police chargers total in the family and we only had problems with one so far, that was just about $1200 to fix with slight upgrades and my own labor (hellcat cam and lifters to avoid any future cam problems since the lifters are known to fail). I heavily recommend buying an old 09-14 model with the 5.7 hemi.

Take it from someone in law enforcement: don’t buy a used patrol vehicle. Some agencies around me use chargers as county vehicles. Chargers and boonie ass backroads don’t mix well. Additionally, most of the wiring to the radio, alarms and stuff have been cut out of patrol vehicles. Then you have the wear on the interior.
21 sie 2013 · My department purchased 3 2012 Dodge Chargers (5.7 Police Package), and we have had a ton of problems with these. I was wondering if it was just our bad luck, or if any one else has had these problems: So far the number one issue has been front suspension bushings.
