The easiest way to remove a program from startup is to do it using msconfig (most apps that are run on startup are not actually started from the Startup folder). Hit WinKey + R , type msconfig , go to the startup tab and remove the program you don't need.

You can use it to start and stop services, as well as configure them to run automatic, manual, disabled, and a whole lot more. Here's the docs on how to use it:

6 mar 2013 · At least for services you can use the command line program sc. It allows you to modify services (not just start/stop as with net). For example, to disable and stop an Apache web server you could use this: sc config apache2.2 start=disabled. sc stop apache2.2.
