14 lut 2017 · Hospital beds can have two types of value: (1) how much they cost the hospital to run – the accounting cost (referred to as the hotel cost by the WHO ), and (2) the value they have in terms of achieving desired outcomes – the economic (or opportunity) cost.

17 lut 2023 · The cost per bed day includes diagnosis and treatment costs so will vary depending on the case-mix of activity in any one year. Analysis from 2020/21 shows the cost per day to maintain a patient in an acute clinical setting excluding diagnosis and treatment costs is £344.60.
30 mar 2023 · Acute - 169 providers reported a total cost of £60.4 billion, the majority of which relates to APC at £37.3 billion. The total cost covers around 20.4 million EC attendances, 17.1 million APC episodes, 81.6 million OP appointments and 2.4 million SWC days.
