The Flood Control District manages 30 rain gauges. We collect the data from our rain gauges and publish it online every 20 minutes. You can easily find the data via our Rain Map and other links on this page. All gauges are up at this time.
Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District RainMap or Rain Map displays rain and stream gauge data on a Google API map. Storm and various rainfall periods can be viewed. Stream gauge data and battery voltage can also be viewed. The RainMap has links to AQPI forecasts and Atmospheric River (AR) information for the County.
Please note that the gauge values displayed are the cumulative amounts for the entire storm event. The Regional Flood Control District collects hydrometeorologic data primarily for the purpose of detecting situations which could cause flooding.
Hydrology Section staff collects and analyzes precipitation and runoff data. They maintain rainfall and stream gauges and equipment. Staff also prepares hydrological analysis of watersheds, data, and engineering charts for use in project development.
