30 sty 2023 · The best channel width in the 5 GHz bands depends upon the number of active network devices. If there’s congestion, use a 20 MHz channel width; however, if there are lesser chances of interference, use 40 or 80 MHz, or even 160 MHz for faster speeds.
11 paź 2023 · Try changing your channel width (some routers may call it sideband or side channel). The higher the channel width, the more data the stream can carry, making it potentially faster, and the more likely the signal is to get around solid objects.
The best channel to use will depend on what your neighbors are using (use a Wi-Fi analyzer app to survey your environment), what your router supports and your region (e.g. U.S., Europe, etc.). In the U.S., I prefer channels between 149-161 first, then 36-48 second.

The standard width of a channel is 20 MHz. Bonding multiple 20 MHz channels together (to achieve 40/80/160 MHz) can increase throughput. But it’s only worth it if it doesn’t increase interference. After much testing, we recommend letting your router decide by setting the channel width to “Auto.”
The width of a WiFi channel dictates how much data can pass through and at what speed, where the wider channels are usually associated with more data transferred at faster speeds— at least, when they aren't impacted by interference.
