As other answers have mentioned, AppData is a hidden Windows folder typically used by programs to store data and settings. While this is true, it's not the folder's only use. While traditionally most Windows programs install to Program Files, some will install to %AppData% instead.

1 wrz 2015 · My two cents: User Pinned is normally a folder with the hidden attribute set on, unhide hidden files&folders (maybe also system protected) on Explorer - View - Options ... or just type that path directly on the address.
The original User's Profile directory lives in a directory like C:\Users\username\AppData. How can I refer to the current user's profile directory when using the Windows command line? By searching I found out about %UserProfile% that perhaps refer to the current username, but it does not really work.
28 kwi 2023 · AppData is taking up about 70GB of storage, and I know not to delete random things from there or mess around with it but I don't know how to get storage back. I've used disk cleanup and deleted temporary files, but still nothing is working. I also used TreeSize to figure out about AppData, but now I'm not sure how I can clean up storage from there.
The %appdata% environment variable is created when you log in to a user account, and its value depends on which account you use. The exact location also depends on whether you're on Windows XP or you're on Windows Vista or Windows 7. For Windows 7, if your account name is "Lisa", then the value of %appdata% would be C:\Users\Lisa\AppData\Roaming
The AppData\Local folder in Windows Vista is the same as the Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data folder in Windows XP. Windows uses the Roaming folder for application specific data, such as custom dictionaries, which are machine independent and should roam with the user profile.

This folder includes many sub-folders like Local, Roaming, LocalLow which contains your user data, settings, IE browsing history, temporary files etc. You may also want to go to it's location and check if you are able to access it. C:\Users\ <user name>\AppData\Roaming
