A brand new cinema theatre company from Koren chain CJ CGV will take over the former AMC spot on Van Ness in 2020. They will feature SF’s first 4D and EX cinemas plus a giant curved screen any many other special extras that AMC & Century don’t offer in SF.
This movie theater has 14 auditoriums, stadium seating, digital surround sound, and THX certification on select screens. Most movie screens at this theater are larger than those at Metreon (except for the IMAX screen at the Metreon).
The AMC building is really beautiful very high to the ceiling and spacious. The theatre seats are not nearly as good as the ones in AMC Metreon.
