Amazon and its subsidiaries are committed to preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA) material across all of Amazon's services. In 2020, we detected or received reports of CSEA that resulted in 2,235 reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
We partner with StolenYouth, a Seattle-based organization with a mission to end child sex trafficking in the state of Washington through prevention, connecting trafficked youth to resources and services, and empowering survivors along their path to recovery and a promising future.

Using AWS services such as Amazon Rekognition, Thorn has seen a 65% reduction in investigation time, which means finding more victims at a faster pace.
Founded in 2012, Thorn builds technology to defend children from sexual abuse. Spotlight uses Amazon Rekognition, an image and video analysis service, Amazon EC2 C5 instances with Intel Xeon processors, and Amazon Cognito for a secure, scalable user directory.
