29 paź 2023 · You can build a 383 small block with internal or external balance. Internal balanced 383s use and different crank shaft….I have one and just for this specific reason. If you are external balanced then you will need the balance sheet and should take your new flywheel or in an automatic transmission the flex plate to a shop that does balancing ...
29 lis 2021 · If it's a true 400 crank with machined mains to fit a 350 block, you will need a 400 flywheel and harmonic balancer because it's externally balanced vs 350 is internally balanced. You can buy 383 stroker crankshafts that internally balanced or externally balanced, they make both types.
31 mar 2011 · Any 383 needs a counterweighted balancer and flywheel/flexplate, unless a bunch of coin has been spent on Mallory metal to internally balance the crank.:beers:
24 kwi 2008 · The flywheel you want should be for a one piece rear main and be counterweighted. Same as the flywheel used on a 350 ZZ engine. An early 400 and stroker 383 (350 block 400 crank) use a two piece main and are externally balanced engines.
31 mar 2011 · Flywheels and flexplates for these cranks are available in 12-3/4" and 14" diameters. All 400ci small-block Chevrolet V8's are extremely balanced, and must use a counterweighted flywheel (or flexplate) for proper engine balance.
23 mar 2015 · My 383 LT4 was fully internal balanced. I had to machine the weight off my flywheel to neutral it up. We use an old 4.3 V6 crank with the counter weights cut off. The crank is zero balanced, we use it to zero balance flywheels and harmonic balancers.
11 lis 2008 · I picked up a 1992 1 Piece 350 block and an Eagle 383 rotating kit PN B13455L. Its supposed to be a full internal balance kit but nobody makes a neutral balance flywheel for the 1 piece rear seal blocks. Has anybody had this problem? Is there a flywheel out there that will work?
