I'm going to revive my OG 30GB Zune to something useful. I got the firmware update ready to go. Super excited. I was going to use Rapid Repair but after finding some how to videos here, I'm going to save a little doing it my self.

Zune HD Battery Replacement 2021. New battery installed! LiPo replacement with stock OEM battery PCB. Original & replacement batteries side by side. De-soldered the OG battery from the PCB. Planning on posting more info on the replacement process.
With the Zune facing down, as pictured, the battery ribbon cable is attached to the bottom right hand side of the logic board. Use the small flat head screw driver to gently lift the brown clamp. The clamp will release the battery ribbon cable from the logic board, freeing the battery.

6 gru 2014 · You need a replacement battery. The Zune batteries arent good for long. Try and find one online, and watch a video on how to install it. - Microsoft Zune 30 GB.
I'm still looking for a reliable battery. Most that I have seen for the zune 30gb so far have been the ones with the kink in them. They need to be straight and flush to the far left side. When I find one I'll buy it. At least now I know how to do it.
