Owning one marine shipping stock in this time of supply chain expansion is like owning one tech stock or one energy stock: you're limiting yourself. Zim is a good shipping stock to own and it's still a value stock for the sector.

It is a risky stock. ZIM seems incredibly cheap, and if shipping rates rise this stock will go up fast.
Currently ZIM is marked as Hold by 6 analyst with average price of 47 lowest of 30 and highest of 60. Based on P/E ratio it’s a screaming buy compared to industry peers. Looking at recession driving down shipping volumes and shipping prices the stock would be under pressure.
We are at peak shipping. The industry is cyclical and brutal. In a few years ZIM and other shipping stocks will be decimated and bag holders will have to wait out an entire cycle just to recoup their capital. I got into shipping stocks a few years ago, before Covid, when the industry was depressed.
