26 maj 2006 · Just saw a zebco paid advertisement on their "Rhino Indestructible" rods. Showed video of being shot through an air cannon and just bouncing off the plywood target - 14 times and the rod was not damaged. Showed them holding the rod by the tip and flexing it like you'd crack a whip - no damage.
Pickup a Abu Garcia Veritas rod and just try it out. you will instantly feel some of the difference between weight, balance, and overall quality vs a $30 Walmart zebco rod. Good luck!
I totally agree. Better rods have increased sensitivity, varying degrees of backbone, and action but you don’t necessarily need deep pockets to find a great rod. Sealed reels are definitely the ticket too if it’s gonna be dunked or possibly hit the sand.

I recently bought a new zebco open reel combo, I believe it is the zebco spyn. It was $30. I put new 10 lb. Test line on and use it primarily for catching fish with hardbait lures.
