Enfield Z Drives can only be used with engines which rotate anti-clockwise when viewed from aft. Close or distance coupled to any inboard engine, the drive can take a propeller up to 14″ (355mm) diameter through reduction of 1.65:1.
Unlike traditional fixed propellers that require the entire vessel to turn, the Z-Drive enables vessels to change direction smoothly and efficiently, making it especially beneficial for applications requiring tight control, such as tugboats and offshore supply vessels.
