The combination of higher yogurt intake and higher DASH (“Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension”) diet scores was associated with 30% (95% CI:0.66–0.75) lower HBP risk compared with lower levels of both factors.

The current study examined the association between yogurt intake, blood pressure and cardiovascular risk factors commonly associated with hypertension. Higher yogurt consumption was associated with modestly lower SBP, DBP (significant when using the updated definition of hypertension), and MAP in hypertensive but not non-hypertensive adults.
